Route Irish

This was long and pathetic with a less-than-climactic ending. The audio was pretty bad as well. You know, very soft voices and insanely loud explosions and other sound effects. The story started out being rather interesting but it quickly became too long and later very predictable. We could have also done without the love story.

Cars 2

You know, Hollywood was wrong when they made "Cloak & Dagger" in the 80s and Disney is even more wrong for the subject matter of this movie with an even younger target market. Lets start making movies with age appropriate themes shall we Disney?

After The Waterfall
1/102011-07-02 02:10
This was simply bad filmmaking. I wish I could give it a "-" rating. It was over an hour of watching a man wallow in sorrow with no appropriate ending to make it worth having wasted your time.

Super 8

I can't believe we've gone from "The Goonies" & "E.T." to this... I feel so sorry for children these days. This movie is outrageous and should not have been cast with kids. *Double Birdies* to SP!

Oldboy

This film is awful on many levels. It is one of those films where the lazy filmmaker fails to do his job and claims his terrible ending was to spark "discussion". The truth is, if you do your job as a storyteller, your film will spark "discussion". A filmmaker doesn't need to tell an unfinished story. Period. Nothing in this film made sense. So the filmmaker simply failed at his job. And surely the filmmaker knows the difference between two people willingly entering into an incestuous relationship and two who are forced and tricked into one??? So the main character was being "punished" for telling the truth? Are we supposed to go along with this immature story as if it makes total sense? This movie is shameful & irresponsible!

Battle Los Angeles

Oh where do I start? I think it's safe to say that war movies are no longer watchable since the current defective bunch in Hollywood are unable to tell a good story so they have decided to cover this truth up by moving the camera like an amateur on every shot. This one was so bad one couldn't help but think "I wish the cameraman in the corner would just stop moving." I thought part of the art of filmmaking was to NOT make viewers aware of the camera. When did this change? We might as well go back to using VHS too. There was pretty much no character development so who cared if anyone died? When character's died in Saving Private Ryan, you felt it... this movie, you just couldn't care less because you had no real idea who these people were. The sad attempt with the one guy getting married and the sergeant who got his men killed... that's so OLD! Then ending... just pathetic. Well the whole story is but the end took the cake.

I should have been skeptical when Blockbuster was going out of business here and the only DVDs left on the shelf on the last day was this one! hahahaha This is like a really really really bad copy of the fantastic movie "Collateral". Cuba Gooding's character was even wearing the same suit Tom Cruise's character was wearing in "Collateral". Shame.

Lincoln Lawyer

Oh boy ... Driving Miss Daisy meets Every Thriller & Court Room Movie ever made. This was just awful. All of the car scenes could have been cut and it didn't make the movie interesting. There was no explanation behind the crazy mother-son pair and given that the mother was raped, there should have been.

Kill The Irishman
3/102011-06-16 18:12
This movie is funny. I don't think it's supposed to be but it is. It is a very long series of utterly ridiculous events. I thought it would be good because Christopher Walken was in it... no such luck. And lets face it, the Irishman was NOT a good guy. He was a jerk just like all the other people he was dealing with. Even I wanted him dead by the end of the movie. hahahahahahaha

The acting in this movie was pretty bad but the message makes up for it. This was a pretty good movie and FINALLY a new movie with an appropriate ending.

Female lead: "Oh I'm weak and female and can't think for or defend myself". Yuck! 37 years and these characters are still being written.

The Lovely Bones

1. American filmmakers are too irresponsible with our young people.
2. According to this movie, being murdered and/or having a child murdered is really no big deal and in the end, the world is better off without them. This movie gave me the same terrible feeling as "Bastard Out of Carolina"; another film with a terrible message and irresponsible use of a young person. Man, this movie was horrible.0.3

Inception

I expected to not like this movie for some reason and while it wasn't the greatest in terms of story and acting, its message was so well expressed and so important that it makes this by far one of the best movies of this year. I'll write a full review on this one. I loved it and I loved the message it served.

Unstoppable
3/102010-11-26 20:51
Run away train. Denzel's acting too good for the movie. A series of ridiculous events. An even more ridiculous ending. And worst of all...a whole LOT of zooming in and quick pans! Ugh! It was actually an interesting story that wasn't told well. The acting was as good as it could be though and I did laugh a lot (although I don't think that was the filmmakers goal). This would have actually have been better if they'd simply stopped with the zooming in and fast panning and stuck with what has worked in film-making for decades...steadiness.

The Hurt Locker
1/102010-07-09 00:30
WTF was this? I spent the entire movie wondering what the movie was about. I should have known it was crap because it won 6 Oscars. What a worthless award. This was bad storytelling, bad acting, bad bad bad camera work... This was just a lame story about a soul-less psychopathic "cancer" going from place to place trying to get people killed. That's pretty much what it boils down to. Why is that interesting? It isn't. And someone needs to scream at the top of their lungs (we all need to in unison) "WE LOVE TRIPODS & STEADICAMS". I'm absolutely sick of shaky shots that are intentional because they think it adds excitement. It doesn't. Neither does using the Zoom. Zoom brings immediate attention to the camera and takes you out of the story that is unfolding before you. Instead viewers are trying to see past your stupid camera mistakes (yes they are mistakes as they always have been!)

Survival Of The Dead

A little Low Budget Bullshit but it has its moments. But again... killing the living to save the dead? More Hollywood mental illness on film.

The Final
2/102010-07-01 22:21
Boo Hoo! More hollywood nonsense depicting the bullied turning into tormentors. How about this... how about they get to a gym and learn to box and then defend themselves when necessary. How about that? Man, I'm sick of this going to the abyss...

Alice in Wonderland
2/102010-06-15 23:35
Ever since "The Road to El Dorado" I knew I would never let my kids watch any Disney movie and this one just solidifies the decision. Besides this being essentially boring, this kind of story and imagery just has no place among young minds I don't care that it's a story folks have been telling kids for forever. They should stop. There comes a time when a society has to mature and realize when a practice has become obsolete. Telling our kids demented stories to get a message across is obsolete. The only reason this got a "2" is because the cat was so fluffy and cute.
